From the depths of the Mediterranean Sea to the heart of the living space, the Monstruosus x Michael Anastassiades Ceramic Planters Collection reimagines the Grecian urn—an iconic form that has endured millennia. Just as ancient amphorae once carried olive oil and wine across the Mediterranean, these planters bring timeless beauty into the home. Inspired by the classical pottery of Anastassiades’ native Cyprus, the collection comprises three distinct shapes that reinterpret historical forms through a minimalist, modern lens. Designed as both sculptural objects and elegant vessels for greenery, their generous proportions and smooth, curvilinear surfaces provide the perfect backdrop for plants to thrive while elevating interiors with quiet sophistication. The project involved close collaboration with Michael Anastassiades’ studio during product development, along with creative direction for the campaign and the selection of locations that evoked the collection’s Mediterranean inspiration.
